How long does it take to find the right Candidate?
The average search varies based on your needs and household staffing requirements. Typically, it takes 2-6 weeks to find the perfect candidate depending on your expectations and criteria.

How does The Washburn Agency screen candidates?
All candidates complete a detailed application and have a video interview with one of our Placement Coordinators. We then contact their previous employers and document those conversations which are included in their profile. Once you are interested in moving forward with a candidate we conduct several background checks which include:

What are the most common benefits offered to household staff?
It is typical for families to offer guaranteed hours, at least 2 weeks paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick days and a contribution towards monthly health insurance premiums.

Do I have to pay overtime?
Yes, Employers must pay overtime to household staff who work more than 40 hours in any week. Overtime pay is 1.5 x the regular rate of pay for each hour worked over 40 hours.
